An 18th-century lighthouse built during the Spanish-colonial era in 1894-1896 as part of the master plan for the lighting of the Maritime Coasts of the Philippine Archipelago, the plan for Guisi Lighthouse was aimed at lighting the Philippine seas and channels to guide the ships. It is known as a navigational aid to fishermen and sailors traversing Panay Gulf. It is considered as the second oldest lighthouse in the Philippines.
